Helps community-owned and locally owned tourism businesses in Manica, Sofala and Inhambane get discovered, get booked and get paid. Guesthouses, guides, craft makers, food producers and transport operators join a shared network powered by the technology of the African Experiences Network, which enables tourism businesses in different communities. Visitors spend more locally, and every business builds a verifiable online record of bookings.
Small tourism operators in Mozambique’s regions outside the main resorts are invisible online, work alone, and lose most tourist spending to outside intermediaries, so visitors pass through without benefiting the community.
Only 19.8% of Mozambicans use the internet (DataReportal, early 2025), so small operators are largely absent from the online booking channels that visitors use. A shared network and digital skills directly address that gap.
A working business network with a shared Portuguese and English booking presence, trained operators, agreed quality standards and measurable growth in bookings and local income.
Owners and staff of 60 small tourism businesses, especially women- and youth-led, and their surrounding communities.
